Pruning for Blooming

Spring bloomers: Leave these shrubs alone until after they have bloomed! Their buds have already formed and buds become blooms! Pruning these shrubs too early greatly lessens the amount of flowers produced that year. After blooms have wilted, you can then feel free to prune.

Summer bloomers: Since summer bloomers produce most of their blooms off of new growth, we prune these shrubs in the fall or early spring! This gives them time to grow new stems, full of lots of buds for summer time.

Not sure what blooms when in your yard? We’ve got you covered!
